Initial Consultation
Your initial consultation with Vicky will last 90 minutes where we will discuss your medical and injury history along with a clinical assessment. This will be then followed by a treatment.
When you have booked you initial appointment, you will receive an email with a consultation form. This is required to be completed prior to coming into the clinic as it will provide more time to be allocated to discussion of your needs and the completion of your physical assessment. Don’t worry if you’re not sure on any of the questions as we’ll go through each section of the assessment with you on the day.
In terms of clothing please bring something which you are comfortable in such as shorts, jogging bottoms, tee shirts or sports bra.
Follow up
Once you have completed your initial consultation, we can then arrange a follow up session and discuss your requirements. These sessions range from 30 to 60 minutes and can be booked in straight away with Vicky.

Sports Massage
A lot of people think that a sports massage hurts, but it doesn’t have to! Our treatment focuses on specific sports strains, injuries, pains and muscular tensions in your body.
Even if you’re in good shape physically then a regular sports massage can increase your parasympathetic activity giving a decrease in blood pressure and heart rate. A great way to relax after a stressful training week.
Sports massage also has an affect on the sensation of pain. It is shown to decrease muscular excitability by stimulating the sensory receptors and reducing muscle tension. You may feel a reduction in painful symptoms and be able to move more easily and feel less ‘tight’.

Cupping
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative technique in which we put special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create a suction which draws the skin, muscle, and fascia up. This is used to ease muscle tension, improve subcutaneous blood flow and to stimulate the autonomic nervous system.
Contrary to the commonly-held impressions, the suction of the cups does not hurt. In fact, most people find the sensation pleasant. The cups can remain in position for several minutes, or the therapist can glide them over the skin similar to the movements of a massage.
